While on vacation I had a serendipitous meeting with Aly&AJ. After an unexpected encounter and a conversation over a small cafe table drinking out of real coconuts I found myself thinking is this real? pinch me! We stayed in contact and I asked if Aly&AJ would consider letting me paint an image of them. They were on board with the idea and while they were on tour and made their stop in Detroit for their show I presented to them the painting. A friend of mine Kelly, AJ, and I drove in my car to a restaurant downtown and had dinner before the show. We got to meet their opening band “The Brummies” and had topo chicos on Aly&AJ’s tour bus. An unforgettable experience and one I will always cherish. something my fifteen-year-old self would never believe if someone told me one day I would meet the sisters that I repeatedly sang their songs on my i-pod nano. Life is wild anything can happen.
